Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

Kevin Bozymski, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, along with Himanshu Agrawal, MBBS, DF-APA, through a grant from the Kern Institute, have challenged themselves to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to 1,000 health care workers across six sites in Wisconsin.

MHFA is a globally applied training program that helps the participant learn how to support individuals who may be facing mental health crisis including suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors, opiate overdose, panic attacks and acute psychosis. One positive of this program is the emphasis on self-care for the mental health first aid caregiver.

If you are interested in learning more about MHFA, please contact Dr. Kevin Bozymski at kbozymski@mcw.edu.

Kevin Bozymski, PharmD, is an Assistant Professor at the MCW School of Pharmacy as well as the School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine.
